GastroPlus Extend® offers horse owners, trainers and veterinarians an opportunity to address & maintain gastric and colonic ulcers from a different physiological standpoint than the current remedies which suppress gastric acid secretions for short term relief.
GastroPlus Extend® supplies nutrients and utilizes Nitric Oxide precursors to support the healing of damaged gastric tissues for long term relief by increasing the horse’s natural production of mucus to protect the lining of the stomach and intestines by controlling and containing the acid. All other ulcer medications decrease the acid in the horse’s stomach, which can lead to protein entropy. When a horse is taken off of the other medications, it may relapse because the body over compensates and produces too much acid, turning it into a vicious cycle of ulcers.
GastroPlus Extend® will work through the entire gastric system, foregut through to hindgut. It will also work for Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Colitis & Crohns disease. GastroPlus Extend® contains no chemicals, fillers, binders or any known prohibited substances as defined by the FEI, BHA & Jockey Club.
GastroPlus Extend® is for horses that have had severe ulceration and may need continued support for a longer period after the initial course of GastroPlus®.

Ingredient Breakdown: Soyflour is rich in high quality protein and excellent source of iron, calcium, and B-vitamins. Besides having a multitude of other benefits, Soyflour provides the protein necessary to strengthen the muscles and tendons around the body’s joints.
Flax Seed is an excellent source of Omega-3 essential fatty acids, “good” fats that have been shown to have heart-healthy effects. Flax Seed contains more Lignans (which have both Plant Estrogen and antioxidant qualities) than other plant foods. Flax Seed contains both the soluble and insoluble types of fiber.
Papaya Leaf aids in digestion and the breaking down of proteins.
L-Arginine is necessary for the production of protein. It also helps rid the body of ammonia (a waste product) and stimulates the release of insulin. In addition, L-Arginine is used to make nitric oxide (a compound that relaxes the blood vessels). L-Alanine helps convert blood glucose to energy and reduce muscle fatigue. It is a popular amino acid used for energy metabolism and maintaining low blood sugar levels.
L-Methionine helps with the effects of toxicity, as well as allergies. Turmeric is a natural antiseptic and antibacterial agent, useful in disinfecting cuts and burns. It has anti-inflammatory properties, may aid in fat metabolism, speeds up wound healing, assists in remodeling damaged skin, and may help in the treatment of psoriasis and other inflammatory skin conditions.
L-Tyrosine is a calming ingredient. Licorice treats sore throats, bronchitis, adrenal insufficiency, and viral infections. Himalayan Salt provides valuable electrolytes, which when diminished can throw the delicate balance of the body’s systems out of equilibrium.
Spirulina offers support for healing hypoglycemia, diabetes, chronic fatigue, anemia, ulcers, and boosts the immune system.
L-Carnitine increases strength and endurance, relieves physical and mental fatigue, promotes and maintains new development of muscle mass, reduces muscle injuries and sore muscles, accelerates regeneration, increases cardiac output, and lowers the heart rate under stress. It promotes formation of red blood cells, strengthens the immune system. It improves cognitive abilities like concentration, memory, and ability to learn.
Vitamin E (DL-Alpha-Tocopheryl Acetate) battles against oxidative stress caused by free radicals within the body. It possesses anti-inflammatory effects that can combat arthritis, rheumatism, asthma, and other inflammatory disorders.
Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) is essential for the formation of bone and cartilage. It helps the body develop resistance against infectious agents and scavenge harmful, pro-inflammatory free radicals.
Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide) improves blood circulation and considerably reduces the risk of heart attack and peripheral vascular disease. It is very effective in increasing joint mobility, enhancing muscle strength, and reducing muscle and joint fatigue.
Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) helps cells make proteins and manufactures brain chemicals. It has been used for muscle spasms, leg cramps, hand numbness, and some neuritis conditions
Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) helps build red blood cells, repairs and maintains tissue, and heals woundsIt has antioxidant properties, and is used for the metabolization of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins for energy. Iron (Ferrous Fumarate) is directly related to the health of the brain and its functions. It fights against a number of diseases and infections and maintains proper growth and robust health.
Cordyceps helps improve endurance.
N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine has detoxification and antioxidant properties, and aids the respiratory system.
Cysteine is a key component of Glutathione, the body’s toxin-neutralizing powerhouse.
Choline Bitartrate helps reduce the risk of heart disease, and can lower blood pressure and heart rate. It may offer prevention against some forms of cancer. It is a pseudo-vitamin involved in the metabolism of fats and in nerve function.
Vitamin D3 maintains blood calcium levels for normal functioning of the nervous system, as well as for bone growth and the maintenance of bone density.
Zinc is a mineral required for the function of numerous enzymatic pathways. It quickens the healing of skin ulcers, acne conditions, infections, disease, and improves the immune system.
Citrus Bioflavonoids have an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Vitamin B12 (Methylcobalamin) helps in healthy regulation of the nervous system, reducing depression, stress, and brain shrinkage. It helps maintain a healthy digestive system, protects against heart disease, stroke, and high blood pressure.
Vitamin B1 (Thiamine Hydrochloride) metabolizes carbohydrates, participates in the synthesis of acetylcholine, assists in nerve conduction and transmission, produces energy, and metabolizes oxygen.
Vitamin A is beneficial to the immune system, skin, and eyes. Biotin is used for the maintenance of hoof health. It aids the joints by building strength in the feet, therefore leading to less wear and tear on the connective tissues.
